BRANSON, Mo. — Gena Hedgpeth says the idea came to her while in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
“While I was down there I was looking for a church and I found the Island Church and they are doing the same program. They have what they call a ‘food rescue program’, and so I went and met with them and they sat down and just kind of told me all the ins and outs of it,” Hedgpeth said. “I thought, nobody’s doing that in Branson, so I need to take it back there.”
So Hedgpeth came back to the Branson area, and started ‘Leftovers for Locals’, which serves Taney and Stone counties…
