College of the Ozarks holds public ceremony remembering 9/11

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — Thursday morning, College of the Ozarks held a public ceremony to remember the tragic events of 9/11.

Major General Charles Hausman of the Missouri National Guard was the guest speaker of Thursday’s event. Hausman, a native of Saint Joseph, Missouri, is a highly decorated and awarded U.S. Army officer who has served in the U.S. military for over three decades in various roles.

Hausman says it’s important not only to honor the lives lost that day, but also to remember how our country came together.

“In the hours that followed amidst the grief and rubble, something truly extraordinary happened,” Hausman said. “America stood tall. Flags, symbols of unity and resiliance, spontaneously appeared on porches and overpasses and in windows across the country. Strangers embraced and shared sorrow.”…
