SPRINGFIELD–The 15,027 fans that packed Plaster Stadium, on Saturday, got one heck of a show in Missouri State’s first FBS home opener against Southern Methodist.
The Bears defense forced two turnovers on the Mustangs first two possessions of the game to help give MSU a 3-0 lead. After SMU missed a field goal on its third drive of the first quarter, MSU’s offense finally broke through for the game’s first touchdown, as Jacob Clark threw a pinpoint pass in the back right corner of the endzone to Dash Luke to boost MO State’s lead to 10-0.
However, that was the last time the Bears would score for the rest of the game. Meanwhile, the Mustangs would rally to score 28 unanswered points over the final three quarters to win 28-10…
