MT. VERNON, Mo. — A former Miami police officer will not serve jail time in a domestic abuse case.Last week, Landon Corbus, 28, pleaded guilty in Lawrence County to two counts of fourth degree domestic assault.The judge sentenced Corbus to a year in jail on each count — but suspended that sentence and put him on two years of unsupervised probation.Authorities charged Corbus back in January following multiple calls to his home in Mount Vernon from his wife – who he admitted to – verbally and physically abusing.He resigned from the Miami Police Department in February.

Deputies say the first time they responded after Corbus’ wife called say he grabbed her, yelled at her and took away her phone because she was recording him.
The second time his wife accused him of taking her daughter’ backpack to destroy it, grabbing her, and yelling and cussing at her.
A day later, Corbus’ wife said he pulled her around the house and at one point picked her up and slammed her down, causing her glasses to stab her in the eye…
