“Sometimes you get a high school diploma, but that doesn’t mean you actually learn to read, and there’s a lot of discrepancy there. So it’s really, really nice. When folks come to us, they ask for help, and they’re able to get that help,” said Program Director Gemma Blackburn.
Ozarks Literacy Council is a non-profit organization helping people of all ages strengthen their literacy skills. One-to-one tutoring, classroom readings and book distributions are the three main programs that are creating a safe place for people to ask for help.
