SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Mississippi man who robbed a bank in Springfield, Missouri, in 2023 while wearing a Superman t-shirt was sentenced to over 10 years in federal court on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Scott Tyner, of Southaven, Mississippi, was sentenced to 5 years and 11 months for bank robbery by force or violence and 5 years for a violent crime/drugs/machine gun charge, giving him a total of 10 years and 11 months in the Bureau of Prisons. Tyner pleaded guilty to both charges in February 2025.
Tyner is also required to pay $5,560 in restitution, which is the amount of money Legacy Bank lost in the robbery.
According to previous coverage, on Sept. 29, 2023, a man wearing a blue t-shirt with a Superman logo and blue pants committed a robbery at Legacy Bank on South National Avenue.
