MSU’s Natalie Allen receives Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

Natalie Allen’s years of investment in the Missouri State University community have paid off in spades.

Allen, child of two MSU alumni and a Bear herself, earned what she praises as “a great foundational education here in dietetics,” setting her up for a wide-ranging, successful career. After meeting her husband in organic chemistry class, they had two cubs of their own who now attend MoState themselves. Needless to say, Bear Pride is a family affair.

Allen, who now teaches in the nutrition and dietetics program, was in class when Interim Provost Dr. Tamara Jahnke and Dr. Mark Smith, Dean of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services appeared with good news. After previously receiving the MSU Foundation Award for Teaching, she had now earned the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, an honor awarded to one MSU faculty member annually…
