Panthers Hold Off Lewis for 2-1 Conference Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury men’s soccer battled for a 2-1 win over Lewis in its first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matchup of the weekend.

The first half started in Drury’s favor. Joe Loughnane opened the half with a shot that was blocked in the second minute. After a string of corner kicks, Rian Mulherin served a ball into the box that Carson Morgan finished in the seventh minute. Lewis responded with a shot in the eighth minute that was blocked by the Panther defense.

Later in the first half, Sergio Aznar had a shot saved by the Flyers’ goalkeeper in the 36th minute. Camden Meyer made a save in the 41st minute to preserve the 1-0 lead. Morgan played a ball through to freshman Dane Prost, who chipped the goalkeeper in the 44th minute to make it 2-0. The Panthers went into the break up two goals…
