SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Transit and travel around Springfield has been one of the city’s priorities identified in a number of different plans and conversations over the last few years. To continue that improvement, two council members proposed the creation of an ad hoc, or temporary, committee to plan out the next phases of improvement.
The two council members, Jenson and Lee, were behind the referral. In the draft resolution, they write that this temporary committee would look at the feasibility and funding for implementing the ConnectSGF medium-term plan to improve bus routes and other transit in the city.
The short-term plan was cost-neutral and standardized routes and times, but the medium-term plan would be much more involved in concept and cost, hence the committee proposal…
