Ozarks to be impacted by the coldest temperatures since May

This fall has been anything but typical. Temperatures have felt more like summer than autumn. To that point, just yesterday, Springfield came within just a couple of degrees of breaking a record.

But good news for fall lovers… a long-awaited shift in the weather pattern is on the way!

A powerful cold front will sweep through the region on Saturday, ushering in a blast of chilly Canadian air. As it moves in, showers and thunderstorms are expected, with some of those storms carrying a severe risk. You can find the latest forecast details here.

Once the rain and storms move out, we’ll be treated to the coldest temperatures in nearly six months. Highs on Sunday will only reach the 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s. The last time temperatures dropped this low was back on May 10.
