SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame has sold its current building in southeast Springfield and is actively looking to relocate its museum closer into Springfield, the organization announced Tuesday.
The organization says it wants to relocate to central Springfield to provide better accessibility to Springfield residents and visitors, as well as help with their long-term growth. The museum will be temporarily located at a downtown facility on 431 & 433 W. Walnut Street.

“Relocation presents an opportunity not only to expand our footprint, but also to strengthen our ability to engage with the public, broaden our educational programming, and deliver a more dynamic and accessible museum experience,” said President/CEO Rob Marsh of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in a press release. “This effort underscores our dedication to preserving Missouri’s sports legacy while positioning the Hall of Fame for future growth and sustainability.”
MSHOF is currently exploring multiple sites in downtown Springfield. They say their future facility will have expanded exhibit space, modern amenities, and the capacity to host special events, educational initiatives and more…
