SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A woman from Springfield accused of kidnapping a woman and two children in 2024 has submitted an Alford plea of guilty in court on Monday, Oct. 27.
In an Alford Plea, the defendant does not admit guilt but concedes that there is enough evidence to result in a conviction.
In the agreement, 42-year-old Michelle Porter pleaded guilty to amended charges of one count of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of first-degree tampering. Her sentencing is set for Dec. 22, 2025.
