SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — CoxHealth has confirmed to Ozarks First that Cox HealthPlans will not offer insurance for 2026 in the Healthcare Marketplace, part of the Affordable Care Act, for people in Greene and Webster counties.
A statement from the health provider says in part, “Cox HealthPlans evaluates their plans, pricing, and network each year based on guidelines published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Based on current analysis and the uncertainty of the marketplace, Cox HealthPlans decided to limit their selling area in 2026, not offering marketplace plans in Greene and Webster Counties. This challenging situation is not unique to Cox HealthPlans. Across the nation, insurance providers are assessing their offered plans in light of rising costs and volatility in the market.”
Ozarks First has obtained a copy of a letter sent to a patient on a Cox Healthplan in Greene County that says, “Starting January 1, 2026, we won’t offer your current health coverage in your area. You must enroll in a new plan to keep health coverage.”…
