Springfield man arrested after body found near Brighton

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Greene County has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting after law enforcement discovered a body with gunshot wounds in a ditch near Brighton on Sunday, Oct. 26.

According to court dockets, Paul Ray Sartin, born in 1975, is charged with abandonment of a corpse, a class E felony.

The probable cause statement says deputies responded around 6:34 a.m. to an area of N. Farm Rd. 153 for a well-being check and found a deceased man, later identified as 50-year-old David Costlow, with two apparent gunshot wounds — one to the abdomen and one to the head.
