The College of the Ozarks is hosting an art exhibition called ‘From Missouri to Mussoorie: An Ozark Artist’s Photographic Journey in India.’ The exhibit runs through November 11, 2025, in the Boger Art Gallery at the Jones Learning Center. It is open to the public on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
The exhibition displays work by Dr. Richard Cummings, a professor of art at the college. Last summer, Dr. Cummings attended an artist residency in India. He traveled to several locations and took photographs of local scenes. The exhibit includes images from the Taj Mahal in Agra, such as a photo of a young boy playing in front of the building.
Dr. Cummings also created six paintings during his time in India. These paintings are now on display in Delhi. They are influenced by the Indian Ragamala painting style and are made mostly from recycled melted plastic collected during his trip…
