We’re following the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, where thousands are still without power this morning.
Ozarks First spoke with Ethan Forhetz with Convoy of Hope, who is currently in Jamaica. Although it has been a tough few days for the island, Forhertz says they are thankful for the help they have received.

“They’re without everything. They’re without shelter, they’re without food, they’re without water, so they’re very desperate when we see them. This is a desperation that I think is going to continue for weeks, as they still don’t have shelter,” said Forhetz. “Convoy of Hope is working to deliver things that they need: the water, the food, the hygiene items, baby supplies, tarps for their roofs, amny of them had their roofs ripped off if it was a concrete structure, if it was a wooden structure, it was likely destroyed, so it’s a very, very difficult time, but while they’re heartbroken and desparate, they’re also very grateful for the help that’s coming in. They’re very thankful, and they understand that they, right now, need the help and will for many, many months.”…
