SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Monday is World Immunization Day, which serves as a reminder to get vaccinated against measles and other preventable diseases.
Experts say it can help you fight off illnesses and, if you do get sick, the vaccination should make it less severe. It’s important for kids and adults alike to be up to date on their immunizations.
“We get them when we’re babies and children because we’re just developing our immune systems,” said Dr. Barbara Bumberry with Mercy Hospital Springfield. “But then, as adults, we need them because that immunity that we got sometimes, as children, can wane over time. Or there may be infections that are more of a concern as we get older.”…
