SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man involved in the fatal motorcycle crash in Springfield on Friday, Nov. 7, has been charged with DWI causing the death of another person, not a passenger.
According to a previous SPD news release, at around 10:27 p.m. Friday, 32-year-old Colby Wickwar was turning left onto Buena Vista Street from southbound Campbell Avenue in his 2016 Toyota Camry when the vehicle hit a northbound 2024 Honda motorcycle ridden by 20-year-old Colin McEntire of Springfield. McEntire was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The probable cause statement says that Wickwar told a Greene County deputy, “I just killed this man,” and admitted to drinking ten beers, with law enforcement noting multiple shooter bottles in his vehicle. A breath sample also showed Wickwar with a BAC of 0.212% that night, almost three times the BAC limit of 0.08%.
Wickwar continued to tell law enforcement that he was an alcoholic and had driven while intoxicated several times before, saying “he couldn’t believe it caught up with him like this,” according to the statement…
