Pride stuns Mississippi State with a pair of game-swinging plays

Cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. completed two of the weirdest plays one could imagine in a single game. There was some sort of magic happening at Faurot Field on Saturday night, and he harnessed it.

Both plays could be considered game-altering, and became major swings in Missouri’s 49-27 win over Mississippi State Saturday in its final home game of the season.

The strangeness started on a field goal attempt from the Bulldogs. As they took the snap with 5:03 remaining in the first quarter, the ball bounced off the thigh of Mississippi State’s holder and across the field. Pride rushed after the ball, picked it up and brought it down the field for a fumble recovery return of 62 yards…
