Today was a cooler version of the mild November pattern we’ve been developing much of the past week. We went from record-setting highs in the upper 70s and low 80s on Saturday to highs in the 60s and low 70s today. That’s still about 10° above normal.
It looks like we’ll remain locked in a mild mode for the time being, but there are some significant shifts to the pattern this week.
The first storm system in the more active pattern arrives Monday into Tuesday. This one will be a little moisture-starved, so we’re only expecting some spotty showers on Monday. As the cold front approaches Monday night, a spotty thunderstorm or two may break out, but most areas will remain dry.
Temperatures on Monday will warm into the 60s in most areas. Warmer air working in from the west will boost highs into the low 70s near I-49. This warmer air will flood our area on Tuesday. Another round of near record highs is expected, with a few record highs in jeopardy. Gusty west to southwest winds and mostly sunny skies will accompany Tuesday’s toasty round of November temperatures.
A cold front pushing through Tuesday night will trim some of the warmth away for Wednesday, but it looks like we’ll still warm into the upper 60s and 70s.
After Wednesday, another storm system will track through the region. Showers will break out on Wednesday night, with waves of rain and thunder expected Thursday into Thursday night. It will be a mild day, but no severe weather is expected. We will get soaked, though, with much of the area picking up over an inch of rainfall and some locations seeing over 2″.

Parts of that storm will still be moving through on Friday, but we should see some sunshine along with a chance for a few showers.
Look for more of a typical November feel the upcoming weekend. Clouds may be slow to clear Saturday, but some afternoon sun will push temperatures into the 50s. Sunday should be a little brighter and a bit milder. The pattern will likely offer up another storm system around Thanksgiving…
