Springfield woman starts front yard food pantry to help those in need

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – During the government shutdown, millions of families had to question where their next meal would come from. While the shutdown is over, one woman’s solution is still going strong with no sign of stopping.

What started as a single tote in LeAnne Spencer’s front yard turned into a hodgepodge of cabinets, buckets, and coolers she calls her little free pantry.

“If I don’t do something to make a difference,” she said, “I’m gonna fall into depression. I have to do something.”…
