Pattern shift bring rainfall and winter cold

Except for the morning fog, Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day. Skies stayed mostly sunny, and temperatures managed to climb into the 60s. Unfortunately, a shake-up in this pleasant pattern is on the way.

Dense Fog Advisories have once again been issued for much of the Ozarks, as developing fog will significantly reduce visibility tonight and into early Monday.

Along with the fog, rain is set to return tonight. Scattered showers will spread across the Ozarks after midnight, with on-and-off showers lingering through most of Monday. More consistent rain is expected by late afternoon.

The gloomy weather will stick around into early Tuesday before skies begin to gradually clear.

Rainfall totals should remain on the lighter side. Most locations can expect between 0.25″ and 0.5″, with isolated pockets nearing one inch.

Once the rain moves out on Tuesday, the cold moves in. A major cooldown will arrive just before Thanksgiving, bringing overnight freezing temperatures and daytime highs stuck in the 40s.

Looking ahead, long-range models suggest that the cold conditions will linger through the rest of November and into the first week of December…
