Saturday made for one soggy, nasty day. Rain lingered for most of the day as blustery winds kept the feels-like temperatures in the 30s. While the weather wasn’t great, we did dodge a bullet with potential snow.
A winter storm has impacted the Midwest, leaving most of Iowa, Illinois, and northeast Missouri covered in 6–12 inches of snow. Please keep this in mind if your Thanksgiving travel plans take you through these areas.
The rain has moved out, and the cold has taken its place. High temperatures on both Sunday and Monday will, at best, only reach around 32 degrees. When you factor in the wind, the feels-like temperatures will hover near 20 degrees for much of the day.
I am still tracking a round of snow set to arrive Monday evening. That said, don’t expect much in terms of accumulation. Moisture will be drastically lacking with this system, so most locations will see only flurries or a light dusting.
A cold week will be the theme. Temperatures will finally climb above freezing on Tuesday, but expect most days this week to bring highs in the 30s and 40s, along with overnight freezes…
