SPRINGFIELD, MO – Drivers waiting for the completion of a major bridge project on the west side may have to wait a few more weeks.
Since August, W. Sunshine St. (Route 413) just east of Scenic Ave. has been closed for the demolition and replacement of the overpass spanning the Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad. In recent weeks, the agency had stated that it planned to have the project done by the end of December. However, MoDOT spokesperson Regan Mitchell tells Ozarks First that the timeline has been padded slightly, but the new bridge may still be open this month.
“…they [construction crews] are aiming to have the bridge open between late this year and early next year, depending on weather conditions,” Mitchell explained…
