City Utilities hosting SHARE the LIGHT event for emergency utility aid

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Those who want to help financially uncertain Springfield-area residents with utility bill assistance will have an opportunity to help at the Battlefield Mall on Saturday, Dec. 6, for 2025’s SHARE the Light event.

SHARE the Light is a community event that brings awareness to Project SHARE, an emergency utility assistance program for Springfield-area residents with financial hardship. City Utilities says the program is administered by OACAC and all donations go directly towards customers who are facing disconnection, have disabilities and seniors 60 years and older.

The event, promoted by CU, iHeart Radio and OACAC, will host a donation drive at the Battlefield Mall parking lot north of Macy’s on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those who make a $10 donation to Project SHARE will get a festive red-and-green LED lightbulb.
