Stand for Springfield toy drive helps children and supports local shelters

FREMONT HILLS, Mo. — Hundreds of children in Springfield will have a brighter holiday this year thanks to a local toy drive, Stand for Springfield.

The event held in Fremont Hills collected donations for children and teens, and also raised funds to support shelters and Title I schools. Organizers say the goal is to make sure every child has something to open on Christmas morning.
