A Springfield, Mo., man admitted in federal court to unlawfully possessing firearms and submitting a false tax return, entering his plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge David P. Rush.
Prosecutors reported that Marco Lorimer Denis, 50, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a firearm despite being legally prohibited from doing so and one count of filing a false tax return. At the time of the offenses, Denis operated Springfield Property LLC, which managed retail and commercial rental spaces, including locations within Plaza Towers in Springfield.
As part of the plea proceedings, Denis acknowledged that he knowingly possessed firearms even though he had a prior conviction for a misdemeanor domestic violence offense.
