SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Sunshine Street Bridge in Springfield will remain closed longer than planned, with the replacement project now scheduled for completion in the second week of January.
The bridge replacement project began in August and was originally scheduled to reopen around Christmas. Officials delayed the project once in October due to weather conditions.
The closure extends from Scenic Avenue to Kansas Expressway, blocking one of the most common routes between Republic and Springfield.
