Hotel of Terror holding petition event after eminent domain vote

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The owner of the Hotel of Terror is asking Springfield residents to help challenge the city’s plan to take control of the property through eminent domain.

The Hotel of Terror announced a petition-signing event Sunday Dec. 21 at their adjacent business, Dungeons of Doom at 701 W. Wall Street, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Participants must be registered voters within Springfield city limits, according to a post on the Hotel of Terror’s Facebook page. It was also posted on Dungeons of Doom Facebook.

The petition is part of Mathis’ effort to block the City Council’s Dec. 15 vote to begin the eminent domain process for the property, which the city plans to acquire to replace the North Main Avenue bridge as part of the Renew Jordan Creek project.
