Nixa police recover stolen items, meth in vehicle pursuit

NIXA, Mo. — A stolen vehicle pursuit in Nixa on Dec. 18 led to the discovery of multiple stolen items, methamphetamine and more, resulting in the arrest of two people, Nixa police says.

Tanner Counts is charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting a stop by fleeing. Brittany Osburn is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

According to the Nixa Police Department (NPD), an officer located a reported stolen vehicle from Joplin southbound on Nicholas Road from Highway AA. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled onto westbound Highway 14, causing officers to perform a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) to stop it…
