SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A person has died in a possible medical event that caused a collision and damage to a Zaxby’s in south Springfield on Monday afternoon.
According to the Springfield Police Department, the driver of a red truck suffered a possible medical event while traveling east on El Camino Alto Drive at around 2:50 p.m. The truck hit a pole, went into the grass, hit the curb and hit a white SUV, which crashed into the restaurant.
The driver of the red truck was taken to the hospital, where he later died, SPD says. The passengers in the SUV did not suffer any injuries.
