Springfield experiences second driest December on record

December and 2025 come to an end this week, and we’re looking ahead to better times in the new year. Hopefully, those better times will include some rain in the Ozarks!

Springfield has seen just 0.16″ of rain in December. That’s over 2″ below the normal monthly rainfall of 2.61″. This makes it the second driest December in Springfield’s recorded history, falling slightly behind the driest December of 0.13″ of rain in 1950.
