Republic man accused of shooting woman with AK-47 in home invasion over inheritance

BATTLEFIELD, Mo. — A Republic man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he broke into a home on New Year’s Day, assaulted a juvenile, and shot a woman with an AK-47-style rifle.

According to the probable cause statement, Timothy Kirby is charged with first-degree assault — serious physical injury, armed criminal action, second-degree assault, first-degree burglary and two counts of armed criminal action in Greene County Circuit Court.

Battlefield police responded around 3:51 p.m. Jan. 1 to reports of a shooting at a residence in Battlefield, where a juvenile told investigators that two masked men had entered the home demanding money.
