SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) – The Better Business Bureau has released fraud prevention tips for 2026 after tracking the year’s riskiest scams that cost consumers time, money, and energy.
The most recent BBB Scam Tracker Risk Report found investment and cryptocurrency scams posed the highest risk to consumers in 2025, followed by employment scams and romance scams.
Online scams accounted for more than 61% of all reports and 78% of reports involving dollar losses, making them riskier and more costly than scams conducted in person or over the phone.
