New details revealed in Christmas Eve officer-involved shooting in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — New details have been released after an officer-involved shooting on Christmas Eve in Springfield.

According to online court dockets, Emanuel Suciu, born in 1996, of Springfield, has been charged with first-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

The probable cause statement filed on Monday, Jan. 5, says Springfield police responded to a reported domestic disturbance around 9 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2025, after a victim texted a neighbor asking them to call law enforcement.
