SPRINGFIELD, MO – When it comes to construction across the Ozarks, 2025 turned out to be a busy year. While several big projects wrapped up, others are continuing into the new year. Many others are set to begin. We’ve compiled a list of the top six construction projects to watch in 2026.
New Target Store
Springfield’s largest current retail construction project will result in the city’s second Target store. The new facility, which has been under construction since 2024, is situated in the Sunshine Towne Center development on West Sunshine Street at the West Bypass. The new store is set to open later this year, though an exact date has not been announced.
