NIXA, Mo. (KY3) – Eight schools in the Ozarks are asking the state education board to let them move up their first day of school for the 2026-27 academic year.
State law requires public schools to start no earlier than 14 days before the first Monday in September. For the 2026-27 school year, that date is August 24.
