Man arrested in Camden County for trafficking fentanyl

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a man from Springfield in Camden County after troopers discovered fentanyl in his vehicle.

Thomas Gamble, 37, is charged with first-degree trafficking drugs, according to online court records.

The probable cause statement from MSHP says on Jan. 8, a trooper observed a vehicle speeding on westbound U.S. 54 near Route V. The trooper followed the vehicle onto Willow Creek Road and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the statement, a free-air K-9 sniff of the vehicle indicated that there were drugs in the vehicle. Inside, officials found a black digital scale with white residue. After asking what Gamble had in his pants, he unveiled a black sock that contained an estimated 17.8 grams of fentanyl…
