SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The city of Springfield is joining a lawsuit filed by the Missouri Attorney General’s Office against 19 drug manufacturers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) for an alleged price-fixing scheme that they claim has deceived consumers out of millions of dollars.
The lawsuit alleges that pharmaceutical companies and PBMs have conspired to inflate prices of insulin and other diabetic treatments, limiting options for consumers and increasing profits for the companies at the expense of patients.
