SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – As Springfield approaches the 100th anniversary of Route 66’s birth, a historic business that served travelers for more than nine decades is being remembered.
The Totem Pole in the Rolla area opened in 1933 and operated for more than 90 years before shutting down a little more than a year ago. The business eventually sold gas, postcards, and souvenirs. The owners also added cabins and the first Laundromat in Phelps County.
