Students plan walkout at Kickapoo High School to support immigrants

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Students at Kickapoo High School are planning a walkout this week to show support for immigrants in the community, citing concern for friends and family members affected by increased immigration enforcement.

The walkout is scheduled to begin Thursday, at 10:55 a.m., on campus. Student organizers say close relationships with immigrant classmates motivated them to organize the demonstration, including friendships with fellow students directly impacted by immigration policies.
