Springfield saw record snowfall on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 1951, as Weatherman C.C. Williford reported 14 inches total for the Queen City.
Williford said the figure was arrived at in response to a government request, which was concerned about the weight of heavy snowfall on buildings.
