From the Darkroom recalls 1951 record snowfall in Springfield

Springfield saw record snowfall on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 1951, as Weatherman C.C. Williford reported 14 inches total for the Queen City.

Williford said the figure was arrived at in response to a government request, which was concerned about the weight of heavy snowfall on buildings. Indicative of the headache caused to Springfield residents was a Daily News staff photo of Don C.
