GREENE COUNTY, Mo. — Neighbors like Patti Dougherty and Fred Ellison are pushing back on a proposed Battery Energy Storage System (aka BESS) facility just off Farm Road 84 on Rocky Lane in Northern Greene County.
“Everyone I’ve talked to, with the exception of one of the landowners behind us, is against it,” Dougherty said.
“Generally, I think the community and the surrounding residents here are all opposed to the facility being sited at that location,” Ellison said. “The idea of a storing power during non-peak demands is probably a good idea, but the problem is, is that you have to be selective with where you locate that type of facility.”…
