High-speed chase reaches 120 MPH before arrest in Springfield, TVI performed

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A suspect is in custody after a high-speed pursuit early Friday morning that reached speeds of more than 120 miles per hour, according to the Springfield Police Department.

Officers were dispatched just after 2:30 a.m. along North Farm Road 137 to assist another agency. Minutes later, a second call reported a sedan traveling at excessive speeds, with authorities indicating the vehicle topped 120 mph during the pursuit.

Police said spike strips were deployed, and a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) maneuver (formerly known as a pit maneuver) was performed near Interstate 65 and Division Street with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol to bring the chase to an end…
