MARSHFIELD, Mo. — A Webster County woman says a Valentine’s Day walk to her mailbox ended with a violent arrest and a night in jail after a new neighbor accused her of trespassing.
Lidia Matuszek, 73, said she has walked the same route for about 14 years without problems but was arrested after a dispute with a neighbor. She said a deputy grabbed her wrist, took her phone and threw it onto the gravel before repeatedly telling her not to resist.
“He said, ‘You’re under arrest,’” Matuszek said. “He took my phone (and) threw it on the gravel.”…
