At Missouri State University, student expression is a familiar part of campus culture, shaped by state law and university policy.
According to Todd Revell, Associate Director of University Safety, MSU typically sees one to two organized protests each year, a level of activity that reflects both national conversations and the campus’s own rhythms.
Revell notes that during his three years at MSU, protest activity has been consistent, but modest. Most demonstrations are small gatherings, rather than large-scale walkouts. MSU has also seen quiet sit-ins inside the PSU, where students gather to make their voices heard without disrupting surrounding activity.
