SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Greene County Assessor Brent Johnson is reminding residents and business owners that 2026 personal property assessment lists are due March 1, with the deadline extended to March 2 because March 1 falls on a Sunday.
Missouri law requires individuals and businesses to report taxable personal property by Jan. 1 each year. That includes motor vehicles, trailers, boats, recreational vehicles, farm equipment, livestock, and business machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures.
“In January, we mailed more than 135,000 assessment lists and postcards to property owners,” Johnson said in a news release. “If you did not receive a list or postcard, or if you have misplaced your original form, please contact our office for assistance. As of February 26th, we have received approximately 57% of the lists mailed.”…
