SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The upcoming series “Born to Bowl” follows the life of five stars of the Professional Bowlers Association, and one of Springfield’s bowling alleys serves as the backdrop for one of the episodes.
The HBO five-part documentary series “Born To Bowl” will debut Monday, March 16. It follows pro bowlers Kyle Troup, Anthony Simonsen, EJ Tackett, Cameron Crowe, and Jason Belmonte. It chronicles their journey to win PBA prize-money at different tournaments on the tour. After the March 16 debut, a new episode will air every Monday on HBO Max.
The third episode will feature a bowling alley in Springfield that holds one of the premiere events on the professional bowling schedule. Enterprise Park Lanes at 1625 S. Enterprise Avenue is the setting for the Pete Weber Classic.
The tournament is named after an all-time great bowler, Pete Weber, who is perhaps best known for his viral moment after a tournament win. His phrase “Who do you think you are, I am!” has become a well-known meme and is a video often shared on social media.
