SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — After more than three decades entertaining crowds and protecting cowboys in rodeo arenas across the country, Rogersville’s Jason Farley is set to become the first professional rodeo clown inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
Farley, 51, who turns 52 later this month, has spent nearly 35 years working as a professional rodeo clown and barrelman, building a reputation for both his comedy acts and his willingness to step into danger to help protect riders during bull riding events.
“Well, I am a rodeo clown and barrelman,” Farley said. “I do comic relief in between events and help that transition. It’s doing some comedy acts and a few jokes. Then I work the barrel. I’ll walk it in there and let them get a piece of it.”…
