On Wednesday night, the Marionville Lady Comets faced the Tipton Cardinals in the Class 2 Show-Me Showdown at Mizzou Arena, falling 63-32.
The run that carried Marionville back to the Final Four for the first time since 2012 didn’t end the way they hoped, but it did end with perspective.
“I definitely think that we came in a little starstruck and that caused us to get outworked,” said Marionville head coach Casey Young-Newberry. “We watched a lot and we learned a lot today about what it’s going to take for us to be a state championship team.
